SoCal Snow

The San Bernardino Mountains feature winter recreational activities you expect in a top-notch resort town: downhill skiing, sledding, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, ice skating and fishing. Or, if you are less athletically inclined, you might enjoy shopping at specialty shops, or the outlet mall located in Lake Arrowhead Village. If you’re more at home in an easy chair, head to a movie at the Blue Jay Cinema. Although the pandemic has sidelined several Christmas and New Years’ traditions, there are still plenty of exciting things to do on the hill this month. So, book your vacation and then plan your stay:

• Santa and Mrs. Claus are headed to SkyPark this Christmas season. 
  
• Snow Drift. Are your kids too young to learn to ski or snowboard? Or if your time and money is limited, so you can’t afford to spend the entire day on the slopes? If so, head on over to the snow-tubing park in Running Springs. Just don’t park your car by the side of the road for snow play. Even if you have an Adventure Pass, police officers could ticket you if your vehicle obstructs traffic. Also, allowing your kids to play near traffic is unsafe. Plan to spend the day at Snow Drift or head on over to Snow Valley if you would rather ski or board.
  
• Holiday Shopping is always a fun activity. While certain stores have shuttered because of COVID-19, many remain open. So, bring your family to enjoy one of the most charming places to visit at Christmas time. The perfect destination for holiday shopping, the village is filled with festive cheer. Stroll the magical village featuring dozens of waterfront shops, outlet stores, specialty shops, and restaurants. Enjoy the pine-scented, seasonal decor, Christmas music and (as ever) spectacular lake views.
